Eagle Valley BaCC Fall 1: Beauregarde

My name is Abraham Beauregarde, but everyone calls me Honest Abe.

I came here to Eagle Valley because I saw *potential*!  I saw *possibility*!  Here we could build a big city and I’d be right there on the ground floor!  It was perfect!  I was going to become the richest man in Eagle Valley, just see if I didn’t!  I’d show all those people who thought I couldn’t even run a decent used car lot.

My new neighbors were an interesting mix, and they didn’t seem to get along together, but that doesn’t matter when it comes time to buy now does it?

No one seemed to be ready to buy tvs, but that was okay, no town started with an electronics store.  No, what this community needed was a grocery store.

I just need to get enough money together for it first.

I made a little money that first day, but it wasn’t enough.

The next day I met Rose.  She understood my vision for this town and told me she knew the perfect person for me.

She introduced me to Demi.  Now Demi was the first person I met around here with an actual job.  She ran an artist commune.  Not the most profitable business, but surely something could be worked out if we worked out.

And we were working out just fine.

Then Rose, you know, the one that introduced us, started kissing up my arm!  Right in front of Demi!  I am *Honest* Abe!  I ain’t gonna cheat!  Especially in front of the girl I’m dating.  What kind of person did she think I was?

That night, Demi left me this nice little fountain.  Not something I could use, but it sure sold for a hefty chunk of change.

Add that to the money I got from selling things I dug up and I had enough.

My new business was going to be called Abe’s Grocery.  Yeah, yeah, not the most creative thing ever, but it got the idea across, didn’t it?  When it’s the first store in town, you don’t want to confuse people.

It wasn’t much, but it was mine, and it was only the first.

Dr. Hawking was not pleased.  He seemed to think the lights from the store would interfere with his observatory.  You know, the observatory that was all the way on the other side of the area!  Like I’m going to shut my store down because of that!

I hadn’t actually run a cash register before.  We didn’t have one in our car lot.  It took a while to get used to one.

But sales, oh sales I knew how to do.

My grocery store started gaining a good reputation.  I had no idea there were so many people around here.  This was going even better than I thought.

Oh, not everything was perfect, mostly thanks to that stupid cash register, and trying to run it all by myself.

I even met someone else with impeccable style.

I used this contraption to keep me going.  I was not going to leave until I absolutely had to.

I even got the hang of that cash register.  By the time I left my store was a level 5, I had a silver sales badge, a bronze cash register and restocking badge.

Today the store!  Tomorrow the town! Next year… the world!  Just kidding.

(blah.  Abe had such a strong voice in my head and it didn’t come through at all)

Eagle Valley BaCC Fall 1: DaVinci

Of course you know who I am!  I’m Talia DaVinci of course!  And I learned something new today!

I learned that if you spend enough time painting outside, you can get really, really hot.  I didn’t even know my skin would burn!  I made sure to come in and get water more often after that.

I could have gone inside to paint of course, but I would have missed a new source of inspiration!

I mean, Jill’s not quite as good an inspiration as Michelle, but no one says you have to have only one source of inspiration.

I asked Jill on a date, and she was quite happy to do so.

*sighs happily* This is what inspiration is all about.

Though this doesn’t hurt, I must admit.

As soon as I was full of inspiration, I headed out to my easel.  Jill didn’t mind being a muse for me.  I’m not sure what she thought of the picture her inspiration brought out in me, but she was good about it.

It was a masterpiece!

She must not have minded the picture too much since she brought over this hot tub for me that night.

Of course I had to call her over to thank her!  It was only polite.

And of course, while she was here, she might as well model for another picture.

I really should have asked Jill to join me in the hot tub she brought.  However, Michelle was still my favorite muse.

And I decided I’d rather break it in with her.

Michelle was a muse to an entirely different type of painting.

I don’t think I’ve painted anything but masterpieces since getting together with Michelle.  I really want her to live with me… but I don’t think I can have only one muse.  I’m not sure what I’m going to do.

Eagle Valley BaCC Fall 1: Willow

Welcome back!

The family decided that those leafy clothes were just not working out, so we put on our normal clothes.  Iris, of course, had never worn anything but the leafy dress but seemed to like the shirt, pants and boots we had found for her.  Talin and I put back on the clothes we used to wear.

Delphinia would make her own decision when she grew up.  Meanwhile she played with her bunny head and sang with her daddy.

The garden was much easier to deal with now that the ladybugs took care of the bugs and we figured out a way to irrigate it.  Of course, we no longer needed to eat, so we were going to sell most of this.

I decided it was time to ask Talin to marry me.  I wasn’t truly worried but at the same time I was a bit apprehensive.  Talin had taken to living here so well, but his help wasn’t as needed as it had been before.  What if he felt useless?

Talin told me I was being ridiculous.  He wanted to learn everything there was to learn.  Now that he was a plant sim he had more time to study and fish, another of his favorite activities.  He had everything he needed, except perhaps…

Well, I was certainly okay with that!  I was a family sim after all!  And although I loved both Iris and Delphinia, I couldn’t deny that I wanted some children that would grow up the normal way and be babies and children and teens, children that I could teach to walk and talk and do their homework.

We decided to invite all of our friends and neighbors to our wedding and rented seating and a wedding arch.  I suppose we shouldn’t have been surprised that Dr. Hawking spent the entire time dancing with his daughter, Tesla.  At least he wasn’t arguing with anyone.  I was happy to see he was a good father and I knew he had a green toddler at home.  I wondered if that was what our children would look like?

Oh dear!  Oh dear!  Talin and I had decided that we would both be Willows.  He admitted that Deppiesse was not the greatest last name, and besides, Delphinia could carry on the name.  However, when we had our ceremony, the Clerk of the Court filled out the marriage license incorrectly and we didn’t notice, so now I’m Rose Deppiesse.

Even with that little hiccup, our guests had fun dancing.

I had to rush to the toilet in the middle of the party, only to find I wasn’t the only one currently in the family way.  Perhaps this would give LaShawn and myself something in common.  I’d like to be friends with our neighbors if possible.  It was unlikely I’d ever truly be friends with Dr. Carl. (He refused to be called anything that didn’t have Dr. in front of it.  He’s so stuck up.)

I don’t believe that Jill will become a member of the family.  She kept rejecting every time Iris tried to flirt with her.  A few people were saying that she had been seen coming out of our newest neighbor, Talia’s, house late at night.  Honestly, I don’t think Iris was too heartbroken.

Even though all we had was a radio and a serving of toaster pastries, it was a good party.

Later that night, Delphinia grew up.  I love our girls pointed ears, but I have no idea where they came from.

I started showing soon after.  That’s Delphinia behind me.  That outfit was all we could find for her.  She doesn’t mind.  She says she wants to become a world famous dancer.  I’m not quite sure how we’re going to make that happen for her.  We already know Iris’ dream of being Mayor just isn’t possible because we don’t live in a city, but dance?

Iris wanted to learn to fish and was quite happy to debate flowers versus bombs with a drop by.

Iris was like me, the first thing she ever pulled from the pond was a boot.

She had heard about the robber that we had had who stole my boot and gave me hers to mount on the wall.

Delphinia, meanwhile wanted to learn to be creative and thought art would be a good way to start.  The flower station belongs to Iris, and she’s working hard on learning to make new flower arrangements.

Delphinia also took up yoga to keep her body limber.  She and Iris learned much faster than either Talin or I did.

My second bump came quite quickly.  I couldn’t wait to hold my baby in my arms.

Christy came by.  She and Delphinia got on very well.  I was a little worried though, considering how Jill had treated Iris, so I decided to stay nearby.

I suppose I didn’t need to get in the middle of their kicky bag game, but they didn’t seem to mind, and at least it wasn’t too strenuous.  It was good that Christy enjoyed the same physical things that Delphinia enjoyed.

I felt the need to go into the bathroom when I felt my labor beginning.  I really have no idea why, there wasn’t a lot of room in there.

This red haired, blue eyed little girl was given to her daddy.

So that I had room in my arms for this red haired green eyed little girl.  We named them Peony and Poppy.

Like their older sisters, all of our girls were exceptional.  I couldn’t wait to see what they would grow up to be.  I wonder if I ever told Talin I wanted 10 kids?

Eagle Valley BaCC Fall 1: Hawking

I am Dr. Carl Hawking, world famous astronomer.

I live at my observatory with my daughter Tesla and LaShawn.    It is LaShawn’s job to take care of Tesla while I am busy with my telescope, and yet she cannot even help with a child’s homework?

LaShawn believes that our brief time upon the couch has created a child in a more normal way than Tesla was created.

Normal is boring.

I had believed, when the aliens removed me from my telescope again, that they were going to ask about Tesla.  However, this was an entirely different group of aliens.

They were every bit as rude about dropping me off as the first.

LaShawn took much worse to being pregnant than I did.  She took no care with herself at all.

She had bought an old clunker of a car, determined to fix it up and sell it off so that we would have some money.

I do not understand what else she thinks we need that would require her to put both herself, and Tesla in danger of those flying sparks.

And helping Tesla with her flying practice might have been a good deed, and a normal part of her duties normally, but she is far too likely to fall.  You would never see me having such a disregard for my own health while I was pregnant.

Which I was.

Tesla was extremely interested in the child I carried within me.  She, of course, knew that that was how she came to be.  Perhaps she was hoping for another with purple skin like hers?

LaShawn continued to work on the car all through her pregnancy.

Until the time came for her to give birth.

We decided to name the boy Edwin.  LaShawn completely refused to accept my choice of name, Hubble, but did allow us to use his first name.  I see no reason she should have had a problem with naming him after the scientist that one of the greatest telescopes ever built was named after.

I did my share of taking care of Edwin during the day while my telescope was not in use.  No one can say I am not a good father.

LaShawn, on the other hand went right back to work on that car of hers.

Meanwhile Tesla had learned everything she could learn about Mechanical things.

I suppose the money from the car was helpful.  The addition of a large nursery, where all of the toys and babies could be stored did clear up space in the dining room.

And of course, the child I myself gave birth to would need some room.

LaShawn had nothing to do with the birth of this child, so she had nothing to do with naming her.  My original plan was to name the child Galileo, but she turned out to be another girl.  Therefore I named her Galilei, Galileo’s last name and a more feminine version of the name.

LaShawn was friends with our neighbor Rose Willow who was *also* green.  I had not thought anything of it when she turned up green, because the only aliens I had met at the time were the same purple Tesla was.

However, when she went straight to Gally and picked her up, I did have to wonder.   Gally’s other birth parent did not have hair, so I admit to being a little worried that she would grow up into leaves.  My children were *aliens* not *plants*.

Tesla continued to practice her flying.  I suppose if LaShawn’s hobby is for the benefit of the children, I can put up with it.

It seemed like no time at all before it was time for Edwin’s first birthday.  I, of course, was the one to bring him to the cake.  I was not sure how well he would do transitioning, since he did not have his sister’s ability to fly.

He did quite well.  I should not be surprised, after all, he is also my child, and while LaShawn is not my intellectual equal, she is not a dullard by any means.  (As if I would allow such a person around my children)

I went back to my telescope, assured LaShawn could handle the rest of the night and no longer fatigued by my own pregnancy.

She not only could handle such things as potty training, but she actually wished to do so.  Perhaps I need to rethink my stance on her intelligence.

LaShawn was still working on her newest car when it was time for Gally to grow up.

Like her sister, she was covered with sparkles I could not capture.

Tesla met her siblings at the play table, although why they were drawing instead of playing with blocks, I do not know.  Gally loves blocks as much as Tesla does, while Edwin prefers his logic toy.  Perhaps he will follow me into science.  Of course, he does not have my name…

LaShawn felt the need to draw me down onto the couch once more and give the new toddlers a lesson in anatomy.  Thinking more on it, I’m not entirely sure such knowledge is necessary at this stage in their development, especially for Edwin who is fully human.  She informed me afterword that she heard a lullaby once again.

Fall for the Willows next!

LaShawn is a family sim.  Yet never once has she rolled a want to get engaged or married.  To have a baby, yes, but not to marry him.  Mind you, I don’t think I’d want to marry him either.  He’s a knowledge sim with a want to be Education Minister (not likely).  She’s a family sim with a want to marry off 6 children.  Normally that would be a doable want, but since so many of the kids in the family are not hers (and I don’t have the bigger family size hack), it might not be possible.  He, after all, wants to be abducted 5 times and is more likely to get that want.  After all, the multi PT hack has 4 different aliens.
